New Zealand National Airways Corporation de Havilland Dragon Rapide aeroplane 'Tikaka', being refueled at Rongotai Airport, Wellington Date: Feb 1947;.The Rapide was used as a regional passenger and mail aircraft and could carry six passengers along with a single pilot who sat in the nose. It was the first aircraft to see service with NAC (National Airways Corporation) in the late 1940s. NAC went on to become a part of what is now Air New Zealand.
